Long-term Care

MYTH: Long-term care insurance is for nursing homes. 

TRUTH: While this type of insurance will assist you if you need a nursing home later in life, the most common reason people purchase this insurance is so that they can stay at home when the age and NOT be forced to go to a nursing home.  When designed properly, long-term care insurance will provide funds to offset the cost of care at home, in an adult daycare facility, in an assisted living facility, or in a nursing home.  There are big discrepencies in long-term care insurance companies.  It is important that you understand them.
